Idli French Fries

Inspired by Ranveer Brar’s deep-fried idli French fries, this is my lighter air-fried version — crisp on the outside, soft inside, and perfect with garlic chutney. A simple way to turn leftover or fresh idlis into a fun snack that feels familiar but different.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Quick and easy snack
  • Great use for idlis
  • Air-fried instead of deep-fried
  • Crisp, light, and satisfying
  • Best served hot with garlic chutney

Ingredients

  • 3 idlis

Method

  1. Cut the idlis into fry-shaped pieces, like French fries.
  2. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  3. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, or until crisp and lightly golden.
  4. Transfer to a plate and serve hot with garlic chutney.

Ippitizer Note

This recipe is inspired by Ranveer Brar’s deep-fried idli French fries, but this version is made in the air fryer for a lighter twist.

Tips

  • Slightly firm or day-old idlis work best because they hold their shape better.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
  • Pair it with garlic chutney for maximum flavour.
