Cucumber Jaljeera Zing

A refreshing, cooling drink made with cucumber, mint, ginger, lemon and classic Indian jaljeera spices. Light, tangy and slightly sweet, it’s perfect for hot days or whenever you want something fresh and flavour-packed.

Ingredients

  • 300 g cucumber
  • Mint leaves
  • Ginger
  • Black salt
  • Salt
  • Chaat masala
  • Roasted jeera powder
  • Lemon juice
  • Sweetener
  • Ice

Method

  1. Wash the cucumber, mint leaves and ginger thoroughly.
  2. Roughly chop the cucumber and ginger.
  3. Add the cucumber, mint leaves and ginger to a blender or juicer. Blend until smooth.
  4. Add lemon juice, black salt, chaat masala, roasted jeera powder, sweetener, salt and ice.
  5. Blend again until everything is well combined.
  6. Taste and adjust the lemon, salt or sweetener according to your preference.
  7. Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with a lime slice, a thin cucumber slice or ribbon and a few fresh mint leaves.
  8. Serve immediately for the freshest flavour.

Use chilled cucumber and plenty of ice for an extra-refreshing drink. The balance of lemon, black salt and roasted jeera is what gives this simple cucumber cooler its distinctive jaljeera zing.
